Hoje vou ressuscitar um dos formatos antigos de posts do blog - as reviews de filmes! 

E nada melhor para começar do que o filme The Conjuring 2 (A Evocação do Mal 2), um filme do fantástico realizador James Wan que conta mais uma aventura dos investigadores paranormais Ed e Lorraine Warren.

And what could be better to start than the movie The Conjuring 2, a movie from the awsome director James Wan that tells yet another adventure of the paranormal investigators Ed & Lorraine Warren.

Sinopse / Synopsis

"Lorraine e Ed Warren, que, em uma de suas mais assustadoras investigações paranormais, viajam ao norte de Londres para ajudar uma mãe solteira que mora com seus quatro filhos em uma casa assombrada por espíritos malignos. "

 

"Patrick Wilsonand Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren from the first film. The film follows the Warrens as they travel to the United Kingdom to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity at their Enfield council house in 1977."

 O filme The Conjuring 2 é baseado no caso do Poltergeist the Enfield, um dos casos paranormais mais bem documentados de sempre (fotos, audio, vídeo e até mesmo testemunhos da polícia!). No entanto, na realidade, este caso não foi investigado pelos Warren. O filme tem uma excelente quantidade de factos reais misturados com uns quantos factos inventados para o filme. É um filme com bastantes sustos bem ao estilo do James Wan e vou deixar-vos aqui a minha lista de coisas boas e más acerca do filme .

The Conjuring 2 is a movie based on the real story of the Enfield Poltergeist, one of the best documented paranormal cases in history (photos, audio, video and even police testimonies!). However, in reallity, the Warrens didn't investigate this case. The movie has a great amount of real facts mixed with a few made up facts. It's a movie with a lot of James Wan style jump scares and I'm going to write you here my favourite and least favourite things about the movie.

O Melhor / The Best

 * Sustos, sustos e mais sustos!
* Seguirem vários momentos da história real
* A freira!!!! (Já fiquei com vontade de fazer um look inspirado nela)
* A menção a Amityville!!! Talvez das minhas partes preferidas do filme uma vez que é um dos casos paranormais que mais me fascina.
* As parecenças entre os actores com as pessoas da história real. Casting muito bem conseguido!!!
 * História de amor entre Ed e Lorraine Warren, com momentos bonitos e realmente emocionantes, algo não muito comum em filmes de terror.
* Os planos múltiplos. Uma técnica de filmagem que é sempre utilizada pelo James Wan e que torna o ambiente muito mais tridimensional e assustador.  

* Jump scares, jump scares and more jump scares!  
* Following several moments of the real life story  
* The Nun!!! ( Now I feel like doing a look inspired on her)  
* The mention to Amityville!!! Maybe one of my favourite parts of the movie since it is one of the most fascinating paranormal cases to me  
* The similarities between the actors and the real story people. Great casting!!!  
* The love story between Ed and Lorraine Warren, with truly beautiful and emotional moments, which is not very common for horror movies  
* The multiple action plans. A filming technique that is always used by James Wan that makes the movie environment much more three dimensional and scarier

 O Pior / The Worst

* Tentativas (bastante falhadas) de introduzir humor no filme. Não resultou e pareceu forçado
* A animação do The Crooked Man. Um monstro totalmente desnecessário e pouco realista em comparação com os outros fantasmas e demónios do filme
* Alguns momentos com desfecho muito previsível como por exemplo a quase morte do Ed Warren  
* Momentos forçados e pouco convincentes como por exemplo a bondade dos Warren para com a família Hosgson com o Ed a comprar presentes para as crianças e a cuidar da casa.

* Attempts (failed ones) to bring humor to the movie. It didn't work and it seemed forced  
* The Crooked Man animation. A totally unnecessary monster and unrealistic when in comparison with the other ghosts and demons from the movie  
* Some moments with a predictable ending such as the almost death of Ed  
* Forced and unconvincing moments, such as the Warrens good will towards the Hodgson family like when Ed buys the kids gifts and fixes things around the house    

Em geral o filme tem bastante qualidade e uma história muito interessante. No entanto, não consegue ultrapassar o primeiro filme.  

In general this is a great quality movie with an interesting story. However, it can't surpass the first movie.

Antes de mais, queria pedir desculpa pela minha ausência aqui do blog, mas tive umas semanas muito ocupadas e tem sido difícil actualizar o blog. Esta semana vou fazer mais posts para conseguir apanhar os vídeos que já tenho publicados

O Halloween está a chegar e para quem não sabe o Halloween é uma das minhas festas preferidas, apesar de não se celebrar oficialmente em Portugal.
Inicialmente pensei em fazer uma série de vídeos de maquilhagem para Halloween, mas faltou-me o tempo =/
Por isso vou fazer 3 posts seguidos com algumas coisas relacionadas com o Halloween.
Para além da cosmética a temática de terror é uma das minhas paixões, por isso hoje, no primeiro dia do Fim-de-semana de Halloween, vou deixar aqui alguns dos meus filmes e séries de terror preferidos.

AVISO: Vou colocar algumas imagens dos filmes e séries que podem impressionar algumas pessoas mais susceptíveis, por isso se este tipo de imagens te impressionarem pára de ler por aqui.


Halloween is coming and for those who don't know this is one of my favourite holidays, although it's not officially celebrated in Portugal.
Initially, I thought about doing an Halloween makeup series but I lack the time . =/
So I'm going to do 3 posts in a row during the weekend related with Halloween.


Besides cosmetics, the horror theme is one of my biggest passions, so today, on day one of Halloween Weekend, I'm leaving you with some of my favourite horror movies and horror tv shows.


WARNING: I'm going to publish some pictures from the films and tv shows that may impress some people, so if you are easily impressed by horror images please stop reading here.

"Ju On The Grudge"

Esta saga é de origem japonesa, mas já existem duas versões americanas. Eu já vi todos e posso dizer-vos que se gostam de bons sustos este é o filme ideal.
Os japoneses são óptimos a criar este tipo de histórias e personagens.

This movie saga is of Japanese origin, but there are two U.S. versions as well. I've seen them all, and let me tell you, if you're looking for some good scares, this is the ideal movie. 
The Japanese are great on creating this kind of stories and characters.

"Amityville Horror" (2005)

Este filme é o remake de uma saga de filmes feitas nos anos 80 (aos quais ainda não assisti), sendo que o filme é baseado numa história verídica (esta é mesmo verídica eu já fui confirmar).
Posso dizer que este foi um dos filmes que mais medo me deu, é muito muito bom e vale a pena assistir.

This movie is a remake of a saga made during the 80's (I still didn't watch those), and the movie is based on a true story ( which really happened, I've checked).
I can tell you this is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, it's really good and it's totally worth watching.

"The Shining" (1980)

Filme baseado no livro de Stephen King com o mesmo nome. Para os fãs do cinema de terror este filme é um clássico de culto.
A representação do Jack Nicholson é brilhante, acho que ele é o actor perfeito para esta personagem.
Eu amo este filme e já vi imensas vezes, tudo nele é absolutamente perfeito apesar de já ser antiguinho.

Movie based on the Stephen King's novel with the same title. For the fans of the horror genre this movie is cult classic. 
Jack Nicholson's acting is brilliant, and I think he is the perfect actor for this character. 
I love this movie and I've seen it many many times, everything in it it's absolutely perfect even though it's an old movie.

"Pet Sematary" (1989)

Outro filme baseado num livro de Stephen King.
Este filme surpreendeu-me pela positiva pois quando comecei a ver estava um pouco céptica porque pensei que tivesse a ver com animais zombie ou algo assim - não tem nada a ver, aliás o filme pouco tem a ver com animais, e mais não digo :D

Another movie based on a Stephen King's novel. 
This movie was a pleasant surprise to me because when I started watching it I was a little skeptical because I thought  it had to do with zombie animals or something like that - I was wrong, in fact this movie has very little to do with animals :D

"The Walkind Dead"

Série de grande qualidade baseada numa banda desenhada, que estreou recentemente a segunda temporada.
Esta série não é forte em sustos, mas sim em situações aflitivas que nos deixam a transpirar. Para além disso tem óptimos efeitos especiais e caracterização.

High quality tv show based on a comic book, which recently premiered it's second season. 
This tv show is not strong in frights, but in highly distressing situations that will leave you sweating. Besides that it has great special effects and characterization.

"American Horror Story"

Série que estreou recentemente e que já me conquistou.
Esta série trabalha com diversos elementos dos filmes de terror (fantasmas, sangue, etc) e tem personagens muito bizarras. Eu estou a amar cada episódio e recomendo muito a quem gosta de filmes de terror.

This tv show has debuted recently and has already won me over.
This show works with several elements of horror movies (ghosts, gore, etc) and has the most bizarre characters ever.
I'm loving each episode and I highly recommend this to people who enjoy horror movies.
